Job description

Working Hours: 5-day workweek, 9 AM to 6 PM.

Location: Raffles

Responsibilities

• Identify, pursue, and structure new trading opportunities across global markets.
• Leverage your existing network of clients, suppliers, and trading partners to expand the company’s commercial footprint.
• Originate new supply and demand flows and accelerate scale-up through strategic partnerships.
• Manage full-cycle trading of physical commodities—including deal origination, structuring, pricing, contract negotiation, and delivery execution.
• Track and interpret market data, pricing trends, and supply/demand dynamics to inform trades.
• Ensure trades are executed efficiently, profitably, and in alignment with company goals.
• Collaborate on company-wide commercial strategies and growth initiatives.
• Depending on experience, take on or transition into leadership of a trading desk or business unit.
• Drive P&L performance, build high-performing teams, and contribute to long-term value creation.
• Build, manage, and grow strong relationships with key customers, counterparties, and partners.
• Ensure high service standards, reliable delivery, and customer satisfaction to promote recurring business.
• Oversee risk assessments for trades, including counterparty risk, credit exposure, and market volatility.
• Ensure full compliance with international trade regulations, internal policies, and ethical standards.
• Work closely with operations, logistics, finance, and legal teams to ensure seamless trade execution.
• Align trading activities with company capabilities, supply chain processes, and financial controls.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years in physical commodity trading with proven business development success. Prior P&L responsibility or team leadership experience is a strong advantage.
• Resources & Network: Must bring an established network of suppliers, customers, or trading partners. Ability to onboard immediate business is a major plus.
• Entrepreneurial Drive: Demonstrated ability to identify untapped markets and convert opportunities into business. Previous involvement in scaling a trading desk or launching new verticals is ideal.
