Job description
JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven leader to join our Wealth and Retail Banking (WRB) Operations team.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in executing Project Phoenix, which aims to enhance the Group’s ability to plan for and execute a resolution or restructuring as part of the Bank of England's (BoE) resolvability assessment. This individual will assist WRB in embedding a new services taxonomy and operating model, documenting contingency plans for key supplier relationships, devising playbooks for various business scenarios including both wind-down and divestment outcomes, and contributing to extensive simulation activities across multiple geographies and operational assets, including people, technology, and financial market infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
  • Develop a clear roadmap to support the WRB Phoenix agenda in line with overall programme objectives and priorities.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of multiple sub-streams by focusing on timely execution and measurable impact and remediation where applicable.
  • Use data-driven insights, market analysis, and risk assessment to inform decisions and prioritise initiatives.
Business
  • Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders across operations, technology, and the business to enhance collaboration.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to clarify objectives, define business requirements, and develop business cases for each project.
  • Identify innovative solutions to address business challenges, improve client service, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
Processes
  • Lead process re-engineering efforts to mitigate risks, improve controls, and increase operational efficiency.

  • Support regulatory engagements, audits, and inspections with clear and detailed responses.

  • Represent WRB Operations in committees and working groups by contributing insights and influencing outcomes.
  • Strengthen the control environment through effective stakeholder engagement and constructive challenge.
  • Effectively communicate risk, issues, and solutions to diverse audiences, including non-specialists.
