- Assist the pharmacist in the processing of medication orders for inpatient and outpatient dispensing which includes typing, packing, labelling and distribution of drug supplies to the wards and other hospital departments.
- Perform billing functions and ensures that all outstanding bills are recovered. This includes answering billing and subsidy enquiries.
- Responsible for training of new staff with regards to cashiering and billing functions.
- Dispense medicines and provide patient education under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Ensure that policies and procedures pertaining to Good Dispensing Practice are adhered to, and are in line with legal requirements.
- Assist in providing quality customer service.
- Monitor all transactions pertaining to stock movements and billing to ensure timely record keeping using the relevant computer systems.
- Review stockholding situation and par level regularly to ensure effective control of inventory.
- To organise the annual stocktake session such as manpower needed, preparation of count sheet and stock preparation.
- Able to investigate and resolve any stock discrepancy.
- Plan the roster and manpower for routine cleaning and upkeeping of the space and equipment.
- Support the hospital by participating actively in the various activities organized by the hospital. Activities include QC, community projects, staff welfare and recreational activities and etc.
- Assist supervisors with the collation of feedback and gives recommendations for the progression of subordinates.
- Conduct performance appraisal of pharmacy technicians and pharmacy service associate/ assistants.
- Coordinate and invigilate written assessments for new or junior staff.
- Liaise with compounding laboratory to place and confirm our extemperaneous and sterile preparation orders.
- Responsible for ensuring adequate staffing on the floor by overseeing the manpower allocation table of each section to ensure smooth flow of day to day routine work.
- Other duties as directed by the supervisors.
