Job summary

A healthcare technology company in Singapore is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to manage the dispensing of medications and support efficient pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate possesses a Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification and has strong communication skills. The role involves inventory management, assisting with daily operations, and collaborating within a team. Occasional weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

  • Possess Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPTC) OR Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science.
  • Completed Basic Skill Test OR Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPTC).
  • Have initiative and able to work independently to achieve goals of the department.
  • Able to communicate effectively.
  • Able to function effectively as member of a team.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends/ public holidays occasionally.

Responsibilities

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Perform technical duties under the supervision of pharmacists to ensure safe, efficient and timely distribution of drugs.
  • Assist the pharmacist in-charge to provide supervision to pharmacy support staff and to coordinate activities within a section to ensure smooth workflow and continuous improvement.
  • Dispense medicines to the patients according to department policies and guidelines.
Daily Operations
  • Provide professional and courteous service to all patients/customers.
  • Process medication orders/prescriptions for both inpatient and outpatient.
  • Picking, packing and labelling in accordance with stipulated policies, guidelines and department standard operating procedures.
  • Perform billing functions.
  • Ensures work area is ready for daily operations.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the pharmacy and ward areas where drugs are stored.
  • Involvement in workplace quality improvement projects/activities as and when required.
Inventory Management
  • Ensures stocks are stocked up properly and tidily according to First-Expiry-First-Out (FEFO) requirement and stipulated storage condition.
  • Performs topping up of omnicell ward stock in the respective wards.
  • Ensures correct receiving of goods.
  • Secondary repackaging/redressing.
  • Carry out cycle counts and stock takes periodically according to SOPs.
Dispensing
  • Dispensing of medications to patients in accordance with stipulated policies, guidelines and department standard operating procedures.
Requirements
  • Possess Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPTC) OR Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science.
  • Completed Basic Skill Test OR Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPTC).
  • Have initiative and able to work independently to achieve goals of the department.
