Job description
Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist the pharmacist in the processing of medication orders for inpatient, outpatient dispensing, and home delivery of medications, which includes typing, packing, labeling and distribution of drug supplies to the wards and other
  2. Perform billing functions and ensure that cost and revenue of all stocks supplied are recovered.
  3. Dispense medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  4. Monitor and maintain inventory stock level of drugs in the areas of work.
  5. Receive, unpack and check deliveries against the appropriate documents, to ensure that items received are correct and accounted for.
  6. Perform stock receiving and issuance.
  7. Top up the medications on the shelves and ensure stocks are arranged first expiry first out.
  8. Provide quality service and handle patient’s enquiries.
  9. Maintain the cleanliness of the work areas and prepare these for daily operations.
  10. Perform administrative tasks (e.g., roster planning, daily planning of manpower allocation, ordering of consumables, generating KPI reports, supporting ambulatory clinic services)
  11. Assist in the maintenance of patient records (e.g., Adverse Drug
Professional Development
  1. Contribute to pharmacy education and professional development • Deliver lectures on relevant topics to pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants.
  2. Ensure compliance with departmental, hospital and external regulatory policies and practices related to pharmacy operations.
  3. Mentor and train pharmacy technicians/pharmacy assistants.
  4. Participate in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives.
