The Job

The role of a Pharmacy Assistant in SGH Pharmacy Compounding Hub requires the following skills set:

  • Able to prepare sterile products (e.g. total parenteral nutrition, eye drops, pre-filled syringes and antibiotic elastomeric pumps) in a cleanroom environment
  • Assist in daily cleanroom maintenance and environmental monitoring
  • Assist in administrative duties (e.g. submission of agar plates for incubation and reading, ordering and inventory management)
Requirements
  • Minimum GCE ‘O’ Level credits in English and Mathematics/ GCE’A’ Level / Diploma in any discipline
  • Personnel would need to undergo and pass media fill tests to be validated in aseptic compounding
  • Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Good hand dexterity and personal hygiene
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with high volume of workload without compromising patient safety
