Job summary
Amaris Consulting seeks an experienced Automation / MES Engineer to support digital manufacturing and shopfloor systems in a pharmaceutical environment. You will bridge business, manufacturing, and IT teams to ensure effective operation and advancement of manufacturing technologies.
The role involves hands-on work with MES, data historians, and system integration, collaborating across global teams to enable Industry 4.0 initiatives and continuous improvement of manufacturing capabilities.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, IT, CS, Automation, or related discipline.
- 4–6 years of experience with MES, automation, IT/OT, or related tech environments.
- Proven experience with MES or shopfloor systems.
- Experience in pharmaceutical or GxP-regulated manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of IT/OT integration, plant connectivity, and industrial environments.
- Understanding of system architecture and IT infrastructure including servers, hardware, and application environments.
- Experience with lifecycle management, system integration, or application management.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage lifecycle of MES, Data Historians, and integration solutions to ensure reliability.
- Collaborate with business and manufacturing to translate requirements into technology solutions.
- Evaluate MES and shopfloor platforms to recommend optimal solutions.
- Facilitate IT-OT integration by supporting plant connectivity and interfaces.
- Define and meet hardware, server, and application environment requirements.
- Troubleshoot issues across applications, infrastructure, and shopfloor systems.
- Contribute to governance and continuous improvement initiatives for system performance and compliance.
- Support project, change, incident, and problem management for manufacturing systems.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders to address system issues and enhancements.
- Drive digital manufacturing, Smart Factory, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
