Fitness Factory Singapore is seeking an entry-level Personal Trainer Assistant to join a boutique gym that specializes in personalised strength training and preventive health.
You will work with experienced trainers, receiving structured mentorship while learning assessment, technique, programme design and client care. Progression to Personal Trainer is possible as competency and performance grow, with a strong focus on safety and client well-being.
Location: Fitness Factory Singapore
Employment Type: Full-Time
Fitness Factory is Singapore’s longest-running personal-training-only boutique gym, with 21 years of experience in personalised strength training, exercise and preventive health.
We believe exercise is an important part of healthcare. Our approach goes beyond conventional gym training — we use evidence-based exercise, careful coaching and individualised programming to help clients improve strength, mobility, physical function and long-term health.
A significant proportion of our clients are aged 45 and above, including older adults and individuals who want to remain strong, independent and physically capable as they age.
We are looking for someone who wants more than just a job in fitness. If you are serious about developing into a knowledgeable, caring and highly competent Personal Trainer, this could be your first step.
The Personal Trainer Assistant is an entry-level coaching position and the starting point on our Personal Trainer career pathway.
Working alongside experienced Personal Trainers, you will receive structured mentorship and hands‑on experience while learning Fitness Factory’s approach to assessment, exercise technique, programme design and client care.
As your knowledge, coaching ability and professional competency develop, you will have the opportunity to progress to Personal Trainer, independently managing and coaching your own clients.
Support Personal Training Sessions
Work alongside senior trainers to guide clients through exercises, reinforce correct technique and help maintain a safe and positive training environment.
Develop Your Coaching Skills
Learn how to communicate effectively, provide appropriate exercise cues and adapt your approach to different individuals — particularly adults 45+, older adults and clients who may be new or apprehensive about exercise.
Learn Individualised Programme Design
Develop an understanding of how training programmes are tailored according to a client's goals, movement ability, strength, health considerations and individual needs.
Understand Exercise for Health & Longevity
Build your knowledge of strength training, muscle health, functional capacity, healthy ageing and the role of exercise in preventive healthcare.
Monitor Client Progress
Assist with assessments, documentation and tracking improvements in strength, mobility, function and other relevant measures.
Support Client Care & Daily Operations
Assist with scheduling, client communication, administrative duties and other operational responsibilities when required.
Maintain Professional & Safety Standards
Help ensure the gym, equipment and training environment are clean, organised, safe and ready for clients at all times.
Qualifications matter, but your attitude and character matter just as much.
You should be:
Patient and empathetic — especially when working with older adults, beginners or clients who may lack confidence in exercise.
A good listener and communicator — able to explain clearly without intimidating or overwhelming clients.
Attentive and safety-conscious — willing to observe details rather than simply put clients through exercises.
Professional and responsible — punctual, dependable and respectful in the way you communicate and conduct yourself.
Humble and willing to learn — open to feedback, coaching and developing your knowledge over time.
Genuinely interested in people — able to build trust and rapport with clients of different ages and backgrounds.
Team-oriented and proactive — willing to contribute beyond your immediate coaching responsibilities.
Interested in exercise science, strength training, healthy ageing and preventive health.
A Diploma in Sport/Exercise Science or recognised fitness certification such as ACE, NSCA or NASM is an advantage. However, we are also open to promising candidates with the right attitude, aptitude and commitment to learning.
Personal Trainer Assistant → Personal Trainer → Continued Professional Development
As you demonstrate the required coaching competency, knowledge, professionalism and ability to work independently, you can progress to the role of Personal Trainer, where you will:
Conduct client consultations and assessments
Design individualised training programmes
Independently coach and manage clients
Build and manage your own client portfolio
Continue developing through education and mentorship
Progression is based on competency and performance, not simply time served.
You will be entering an environment where Personal Training is treated as a profession — not simply a sales job or a matter of counting repetitions.
You will receive:
Structured mentorship from experienced Personal Trainers
Hands-on coaching experience with real clients
Exposure to clients across different ages, abilities and health needs
Professional development in strength, healthy ageing and preventive health
A clear career pathway towards becoming a Personal Trainer
The opportunity to build a meaningful, long-term career helping people become stronger, healthier and more physically capable
Competitive base salary with performance-based commissions and salary progression upon promotion to Personal Trainer.
