Job summary

An animal welfare organization in Singapore is looking for an Animal Support Officer (ASO) to manage general administration and the 24-hour emergency hotline. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for animal welfare, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service. Job Description:

The Animal Support Officer (ASO) is responsible for handling general administration, manning the SPCA’s 24‑hour emergency hotline and managing customers at the reception. The ASO plays an important role in upholding excellent service delivery standards and ensuring swift responses to emergencies.

Work Type: Permanent Part-Time
Work Hours: 4 Days/Week, 5:00PM – 10:00PM (Must work at least one weekend day)
The responsibilities include and are not limited to:
  • Managing customers at the reception and handle general enquiries via telephone or in person.
  • Disseminating important information and support other departments with administrative work and call transfers.
  • Supporting general facilities management by ensuring all access doors are closed after office hours.
  • Processing basic transactions such as collection of adoption and surrender fees, donations, sale of merchandise etc.
  • Screening a large volume of emergency and non‑emergency calls, enquiries, cruelty cases, surrenders and animal claims.
  • Prioritising animal rescues according to level of risk and urgency using guidelines provided and mobilise Rescue Officers to attend cases.
  • Monitoring SPCA’s Whatsapp account actively to highlight and log cases for further action.
  • Escalating important cases and emergencies to the Operations Manager and Operations Director accordingly.
  • Upholding high service delivery standards.

  • Provision of support for ad‑hoc events and SPCA‑led projects.
