Job summary

National Heart Centre of Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Senior Perfusionist to manage the perfusion of cardiopulmonary bypass cases and operate heart-lung machines and related equipment to support cardiovascular surgeons.

The role includes assisting the Chief Perfusionist in supervising and training Perfusionists, with consideration given to candidates who bring strong healthcare experience even if perfusion management experience is limited.

Qualifications

• Recognised degree, preferably in Biological Sciences.
• 1–2 years’ perfusion experience involving congenital, ischemic heart or vascular diseases.
• Service-oriented, alert, observant and dexterous.
• Candidates with other healthcare experience may be considered if they have 2–3 years of related work experience.
• Vaccination proof: Measles/MMR and Tdap within last 10 years; may complete before work commencement.

You will be responsible for managing the perfusion of cardiopulmonary bypass cases, operating and maintaining heart-lung machines, blood analysis equipment and other accessory equipment so as to ensure safe conduct of surgery by the cardiovascular surgeon. For the Senior Perfusionist post, you will also assist the Chief Perfusionist in supervising and training of Perfusionists to support the surgeons in cardiovascular operations. Candidates with relevant qualification and experience will be considered for Senior Perfusionist post.

Requirements:

• Recognised Degree, preferably majoring in Biological Sciences
• At least 1 to 2 years’ relevant experience in managing perfusions involving congenital (infant / paediatric), ischemic heart and vascular diseases
• Service-oriented, alert, observant and dexterous
• Candidates without perfusion management experience may be considered if he/she has at least 2 to 3 years of other work experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
• Documented proof of:
  (i) Measles (or MMR - Mumps, Measles and Rubella) vaccination or serological evidence of measles immunity; and
  (ii) Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis) vaccination received within the last 10 years, as required for all healthcare workers under the Healthcare Services Act.
