Job description

Job Purpose

Provide life support for patient through cardiopulmonary bypass during heart and related surgeries, where the cessation of the heart and lungs are essential. This artificial life support allows the cardiac surgeon to mend the heart that is afflicted with debilitating ailments.

Job Responsibilities

• Safe assembly of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) circuit on the Heart Lung Machine (HLM).
• Safe conduct and management of CPB, working in close coordination with the heart surgeons and anesthetists. Under supervision.
• Assemble the ECMO circuit, initiate and assist in the management of patients on ECMO life support. Under supervision.
• Perform other Perfusion-related ancillary duties as delegated by the Reporting Officer.

Requirements

• Degree in Life or Biological Sciences or Nursing.
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience. Fresh graduate or candidate with appropriate experience in similar or related fields may apply.
• Congenial, a team player, able work in a cohesive team and cross teaming environment.
• Possess confidence and ability to work under tense environment in the Operating Theatre.
• A proactive learner, ability to multi-task and think on the feet.
