Job summary

A leading public healthcare institution in Singapore is seeking a Patient Service Associate to help conduct financial advice and assist patients in billing inquiries. This role involves documentation processes, referrals for financial assistance, and communication with patients. The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of experience in a clinic or hospital setting, possess strong communication skills, and hold a minimum of O levels. Qualifications

  • At least 1 year experience as Patient Service Associate, experience in any clinic/hospital setting is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial advice to patients on estimated hospital bills.
  • Refer cases to Business Office/Medical Social Worker for financial assistance.
  • Ensure documentation is done for all inflight cases until patient discharge.
  • Assist patients in their billing enquiries.
  • Collect deposits and outstanding bills for eligible patients.
  • Collect payment for other ordered items by medical team.
  • Explain necessary documentation forms to patients.
  • Ensure timely submission of MCAF M/NEFR forms.
  • Update SAP system when forms are consented.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct financial advice to patient/NOK on the estimated hospital bills, available subsidies and schemes and various modes of payment.
  • Refer appropriate cases to Business Office/Medical Social Worker for financial assistance schemes that patient may be eligible for.
  • Ensure proper documentation and follow up is done for all inflight cases until patient discharge.
  • Assist patients in their billing enquiries.
  • Collect deposits and any outstanding bills for eligible patients.
  • Collect payment for other items ordered/applied by medical team such as rehabilitation items, mobility aids etc.
  • Explain and advise patient on the various forms and the necessary proof of documentation needed.
  • Ensure the original hardcopy of MCAF M/NEFR forms are submitted and send back to MOHH timely.
  • Ensure SAP system is updated whenever these forms are consented by patient.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year experience as Patient Service Associate, experience in any clinic/hospital setting will be a strong advantage
  • Strong communication skills, passionate to interact with patients
  • Minimum O levels education qualification
