Patient Service Associate – Emergency Department

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate Patient Service Associate (PSA) to join our dynamic Emergency Department (ED) team. As a PSA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our patients and their families have a positive experience during their time in the ED.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Reception and Registration:
    • Assist patients and their families upon arrival, ensuring all necessary information is accurately recorded.
    • Support the triage process by managing patient flow and coordinating with the medical team.
  • Handling Inquiries and Communication:
    • Provide clear information to patients and families regarding ED procedures, waiting times, and hospital policies.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Manage patient records and documentation, ensuring all information is up-to-date and properly filed.
    • Scheduling and assisting with appointments.
    • Ad‑hoc duties such as excel preparation.
  • Billing and Payment:
    • Assist with payment collection.
  • Clinical Duties (training provided):
    • Administer nasal swabs to patients.
    • Assisting to take vital signs and ECGs.
    • Transferring patients from wheelchair to trolley, and assisting in pushing patients around.
Qualifications

Diploma in any discipline/GCE 'A'/'O' Level/Higher NITEC/NITEC in any discipline

Skills and Competencies
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and empathetically.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Able to multi‑task, work in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in using various computer applications.
Additional Requirements
  • Willingness to work 2 rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting or in customer service is preferred but not required.
