Job description

You will enhance patient care by leveraging the skills, time, and compassion of volunteers and support group members, while fostering stronger connections between the hospital and the local community.

You will optimise resources by supplementing the hospital's workforce with skilled inbound volunteers, allowing staff to focus on core medical duties. You will also facilitate patient empowerment through support groups that promote peer-to-peer support, education, and coping strategies for various health conditions.

Responsibilities
Volunteer Programme Management and Engagement
  • Develop and manage volunteer recruitment, training and retention systems
  • Oversee programmes, monitor performance, provide feedback, and ensure sufficient staffing patient areas
Patient Support and Experience Enhancement
  • Expand support services
  • Develop and execute plans to improve patient satisfaction
  • Integrate volunteer services with patient support initiatives
Programme Development and Quality Assurance
  • Design and oversee diverse volunteer programmes
  • Provide orientation and training
  • Ensure compliance with policies and standards
  • Regularly evaluate programme effectiveness
  • Drive continuous improvement based on feedback
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
  • Liaise with hospital departments, healthcare professionals, and community organisations

Requirements
  • Degree in any discipline with at least 2 years’ relevant working experience
  • Has good working knowledge of ground customer service operations
  • Those with healthcare experience or volunteer management would have an advantage
  • Strong relationship building skills, positive, creative and meticulous planner
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and good time management
  • Good presentation and communications skills
  • Proficient in relevant IT applications, capable of creating motion graphics, animations, videos and developing engaging PowerPoint presentations using multimedia elements
  • Flexible and willing to work on occasional weekends for event coverage
