The Plattering Co is known for its creative and hearty sharing platters, bowls and bentos and beautiful grazing table displays and unique catering setups. As we continue to grow and push boundaries in the catering industry, we are seeking a passionate, talented and reliable Pastry Chef to join our catering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality baked goods, desserts, and pastry items for events of various sizes. This role requires creativity, efficiency, strong technical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and produce a variety of baked items including breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, tarts, and specialty desserts.
  • Design, decorate, and finish desserts according to event themes, client requests, and company standards.
  • Follow production schedules and ensure all baked goods are completed on time for catering orders and events.
  • Maintain consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation across all products.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and event team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
  • Monitor inventory, track ingredient usage, and communicate supply needs to management.
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and packaging of finished products for transport.
  • Operate baking and pastry equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment in compliance with food safety standards.
  • Assist with special projects, large-volume orders, and last-minute event needs as required.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef, or similar role (catering or high-volume production preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dough preparation, pastry methods, and dessert finishing.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under time pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially in presentation and flavor balance.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
