Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and carry out instructional activities that promote active learning experiences.
- Establish and convey clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Prepare classrooms and learning environments for class activities.
- Prepare a variety of learning materials for use in educational activities.
- Identify and select a variety of instructional resources and methods to cater to students’ varying needs.
- Use relevant technology to support and enhance instruction.
- Observe and evaluate students’ performance and development.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of students' progress and development.
- Prepare reports on students and activities.
- Conduct remedial lessons to help underachievers reach expected competencies in core academic skills.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom appropriately.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the school’s disciplinary system.
- Apply appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary.
- Perform pastoral duties such as student support and counseling.
- Work closely with the form teacher to maintain discipline and care for the well‑being of students.
- Communicate necessary information frequently to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and needs.
- Keep updated with subject area knowledge, teaching resources, and methodologies.
- Make pertinent changes to instructional plans and activities based on updated practices.
Requirements
- Basic degree holder (English major) or above with at least 3 years of relevant working experience
- Qualifications in TEFL/TESOL/CELTA highly preferred
- Familiar with Singapore curriculum
- Passionate about teaching and are constantly able to see the best in a child
- Dynamic and energetic
- Mature and independent
- Conversant in a second language besides English
- Competent PC skills
