Job summary

An educational service provider in Singapore is seeking a Counsellor to provide high-quality counselling support to students. The role involves conducting counselling sessions, preparing documentation, and maintaining counselling records while working closely with school staff and parents. Qualifications

  • Receiving ongoing clinical supervision from a trained supervisor.

  • Maintain proper counselling records in accordance with school SOPs.

Contract Period

1 January 2026 – 31 December 2026

  • Estimated Total Contract Hours: 973 hours

  • Billing and payment will be based on actual hours worked

Working Schedule (Weekly)
  • One full day:
    Wednesday* – 8:00am to 5:30pm
    (9 hours work with 30-minute lunch break)

  • Three afternoons:
    Monday, Thursday & Friday* – 12:00pm to 5:00pm
    (5 hours per session)

* Actual days may vary depending on the 2026 school timetable to facilitate common meeting slots.

School Holiday Arrangement
  • PTSC is not required to work during:

    • June school holidays (protected middle 2 weeks)

    • December school holidays

    • MOE gazetted school holidays

    • Days with off-in-lieu or school celebration events

Key Responsibilities
Counselling & Case Management
  • Conduct counselling sessions for:

    • Scheduled appointments

    • Drop‑in cases

  • Provide consistent, high‑quality counselling support with appropriate follow‑up

  • Identify, monitor, and manage at‑risk and high‑risk cases

Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare counselling documentation and case summaries

  • Meet HOD Student Development monthly to:

    • Provide timely updates on student cases

    • Present progress reports for at‑risk / high‑risk students

    • Update on cases deemed closed

  • Maintain proper counselling records in accordance with school SOPs

Collaboration & Meetings
  • Prepare for and participate in Case Management Team meetings

  • Carry out follow‑up actions as agreed during meetings

  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and assist in crisis management when required

Systems & Administrative Support
  • Monitor and manage the online counselling booking portal
    (Basic training will be provided)

Professional & Ethical Compliance
  • Adhere strictly to:

    • School SOPs on counselling, parent engagement, and case handover

    • Ethical Standards for School Counsellors in Singapore

  • Safeguard confidentiality of student counselling records

  • Ensure all counselling records remain school property and are not removed without permission

  • Sign an Undertaking to Safeguard Official Information

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Mandatory Requirements
  • Degree in Counselling (minimum)

  • Registered with Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC)

  • Receiving ongoing clinical supervision from a trained supervisor

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant counselling experience in an MOE Secondary School and/or Junior College

Preferred Skills & Competencies
  • Relevant counselling certifications and competencies

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with adolescents

  • Able to collaborate effectively with school leaders, teachers, parents, and external professionals
