About The Role

We are seeking a Part-Time Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of our advertising company. This role is ideal for an experienced finance professional who can manage outsourced accounting functions, ensure financial accuracy, and provide actionable insights to management. You will work closely with our external service providers and internal team to maintain sound financial controls and support the company’s growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review work performed by outsourced service providers (accounting, payroll, company secretarial, tax, and GST).
  • Provide necessary documents and information to external partners in a timely manner.
  • Oversee monthly account closing and ensure accuracy of financial statements.
  • Check consolidation of group accounts and ensure compliance with reporting standards.
  • Review and validate tax and GST returns before submission.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports for senior leadership.
  • Manage accounting records and reporting within Xero, ensuring accurate and timely data entry and reconciliations.
Accounts Receivable & Payable
  • Oversee client invoicing and ensure timely and accurate billing.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding payments, and support collection efforts.
  • Prepare supplier payments and staff reimbursements for management approval.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of payables and receivables.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Cashflow
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasts and annual budgets.
  • Monitor cashflow and working capital to ensure financial stability.
  • Highlight variances and provide insights to management for informed decision-making.
Project & Job Costing
  • Collaborate with client service teams to track project costs and profitability.
  • Review job costing reports and follow up on financial matters related to projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience, ideally in advertising, media, or professional services.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards, tax, and GST compliance.
  • Hands‑on experience with Xero accounting software is preferred.
  • Experience managing outsourced finance functions.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Able to work independently and manage time effectively within a part‑time schedule.
Reporting Line

Reports directly to Senior Management.

Compensation

Competitive hourly or retainer‑based remuneration, commensurate with experience.
