An environmental outreach organization in Singapore is seeking an Outreach and Education Coordinator to develop and manage educational initiatives related to composting. This position is part of The NYC Compost Project hosted at NYBG as well as NYBG's Bronx Green-Up Program. The NYC Compost Project, created by the NYC Department of Sanitation (DSNY) in 1993, works to rebuild NYC's soil by providing New Yorkers with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities they need to produce and use compost locally. NYC Compost Project programs and staff are partially funded and managed through the DSNY Bureau of Recycling and Sustainability (BRS) in partnership with host institutions. Bronx Green-Up is the community gardening outreach program of NYBG.
Basic Job Function:
The Outreach and Education Coordinator is primarily responsible for developing, promoting, conducting, and documenting the program’s compost outreach, educational, and technical assistance activities as well as other community education and training initiatives. In addition, the Outreach and Education Coordinator organizes events, conducts workshops, manages volunteers, and is responsible for a wide range of administrative tasks.
Additionally, this position supports, through actions and conduct, NYBG’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility initiatives and helps to build and maintain an inclusive organizational culture throughout the institution.
