Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Oracle Platform Operations & Patching Engineer to provide Day 2 operational support, patch management, and platform maintenance for enterprise Oracle environments. The role covers patching CPUs, managing Oracle middleware and databases, and ensuring stability across development, testing, and production systems, with after-hours maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

Hands-on Oracle administration in enterprise environments.
Experience with Oracle patching and security updates.
Knowledge of middleware, database, and governance processes.

Responsibilities

Perform Oracle CPU assessments, planning, deployment, validation and post-patch stabilization.
Support Oracle Middleware: OHS, WebLogic, ADF, Forms & Reports.
Support Oracle Database, including Data Guard configurations.
Manage OEM patching and operations.
Develop patching schedules, rollback procedures, and validation activities.
Execute patch deployments and ensure service availability during maintenance.
Perform post-patch health checks, troubleshooting, and stabilization.
Support vulnerability remediation and security hardening initiatives.
Coordinate with Oracle Support for issue investigation and resolution.
Maintain patch documentation and implementation records.
Participate in after-hours and weekend maintenance when required.
