Purpose & Scope

To operate Water / Wastewater Treatment Plant and to ensure that the Plant always meets customers’ contract requirements and NEA discharge or water product specifications.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • Maximize the Plant availability and reliability by following SOPs and meeting customers’ contract requirements and NEA discharge or water product specifications.
  • Coordinate with customers’ control rooms on compliance of water/ wastewater flow and quality.
  • Enforce HSE and manage all maintenance works within the Plant through PTW and physical inspection.
  • Follow and enforce SOPs / SWPs at all times when working in the plant.
  • Good knowledge of plant process flow to manage and handle process upsets and malfunction of equipment; seek assistance from engineers as needed on troubleshooting and mitigating the process impact.
  • Knowledge of first line maintenance, e.g., comparing portable and online measurements, topping up demineralized water for TOC analyzer, etc.
  • Raise maintenance notifications via SAP whenever an equipment fault is observed.
  • Knowledge of Permit-to-Work (PTW) system and Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO) system.
  • Fill up log sheets, shift reports, and daily reports accurately.
  • Carry out plant mechanical routine duties diligently, including housekeeping within the plant premises.
  • Carry out plant sampling and measurement duties in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Highlight to the Operation Engineer when there is low inventory of chemicals and logistics.
  • The successful candidate will be part of the Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) and First Aider (trainings will be provided).
Major Challenges
  • Process-related problems that span across different unit operations, which ultimately affect discharge quality.
  • Knowledge of various equipment and instruments and its functionality, requiring prompt attention during urgent events.
Key Decisions & Dimensions
  • Maintain wastewater within specified ranges of flow rate, temperature, kg-TOC loading, and kg-COD loading.
  • Maintain water product within specified ranges of flow, temperatures, pH, TSS and conductivity/ TDS.
  • Check equipment delivering pressure, temperatures, etc.
  • Approval of general work permits for PM and CM jobs.
Qualification, Skills & Experience
  • ITE / Diploma with knowledge of Water / Wastewater treatment (will be an advantage).
  • Experience in plant operations relating to Water / Wastewater treatment.
  • Driving license as required to commute between plant in Jurong Island.
  • Hardworking attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Good team player and able to deliver results within tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication skills.
  • Ability to be alert to any unusual phenomena occurring in the plant.
  • Taking safety and zero off-spec discharge as priority.
  • Willing to be trained and certified by Process and Engineering teams.
  • Willing to feedback and discuss with Operations and Process Engineering teams for any troubleshooting, plant improvement works, etc.
  • Independent with positive attitude.
