Job Title: Operations Systems Engineer
Department: Operations Systems & Support
Location: East Singapore
Timing: 12 Hr Shift Role (7:00 Am to 7:00 PM, No Night Shift)

Role Summary

The Operations Systems Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day triage, technical support and incident escalation of mission-critical data-centre operations systems. You will serve as a key liaison between internal support teams, operations, and vendors to ensure uninterrupted service delivery and minimal downtime for our systems and internal customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier I and Tier II support for data-centre operations systems including Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS) and Operational Technology (OT) devices.

  • Participate in a weekly rotating on-call schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage.

  • Receive, triage and act on incoming service tickets and phone calls from internal customers, ensuring timely updates and resolution.

  • Detect and analyse alarms and system events to perform basic fault isolation/troubleshooting; escalate to Tier III or management when needed.

  • Collaborate with service desk, IT systems, network teams and other support functions for cross-discipline incident resolution.

  • Prioritise tasks and incidents to meet established KPIs, OLAs and SLAs; ensure ticketing systems are accurately updated throughout the incident lifecycle.

  • Maintain effective communications with all stakeholders (Tier I, Tier III, management) for issues requiring urgent attention.

  • Thoroughly document incidents, maintenance activities and problem records in near real-time for audit and review.

  • Ensure operational agreements (OLAs) are met in accordance with internal standards.

  • Continuously update your knowledge and technical skills through training, professional development and changes in system landscape.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience (5 + years in related field).

  • 3-5 years’ experience supporting 24/7 mission-critical operations or remote technical support environment (preferably within data-centre operations).

  • Proven experience working with BMS, EPMS, Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) and alarm-delivery systems.

  • Strong understanding of building-services systems (mechanical/electrical), their redundancy, and how they integrate into a data-centre operation.

  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, MQTT, SNMP, Web Services.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and project documentation.

  • Experience in operation, maintenance, construction or commissioning of mission-critical facilities

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office Suite, Visio or equivalent tools.

  • Experience or exposure to scripting (e.g., Python) or automation tools is advantageous.
