A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking an Operations Support Services Technical Officer. This role is responsible for technical support and system maintenance to ensure operational reliability and safety. You will perform hands-on maintenance, coordinate with contractors, and provide 24/7 standby support. The ideal candidate has a diploma in engineering and relevant experience, with a strong knowledge of electrical and networking systems.

The Operations Support Services Technical Officer provides frontline technical and operational support to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of critical port and facility systems. The role involves hands‑on system maintenance, troubleshooting, contractor supervision, and participation in engineering and upgrade projects at both central and remote sites.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, electronic, and IT‑based operational systems (e.g., communication, control, and monitoring systems).
Respond promptly to equipment faults or system breakdowns at central or remote locations.
Diagnose and resolve issues involving power supply, cabling, signal transmission, and network connectivity.
Supervise and coordinate external contractors during repair and testing activities.
Be prepared to stay overnight at remote sites (up to four consecutive nights) when required.
Perform shift‑based DTO duties at operation centers or remote facilities.
Monitor system performance dashboards, respond to system alerts, and coordinate first‑level fault responses.
Review and validate maintenance checklists, service reports, and fault logs for accuracy.
Assist in managing maintenance and term contracts, including drafting technical specifications and work scopes.
Plan and schedule preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
Track maintenance budgets, expenditures, and performance KPIs.
Conduct site surveys, inspections, and spot checks on ongoing maintenance and installation works.
Attend coordination meetings with internal teams, vendors, and external agencies.
Ensure all works comply with safety, security, and operational requirements.
Source and procure spare parts, tools, and test equipment required for operations.
Obtain quotations, raise purchase requests, and follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery and completion of works.
Maintain accurate records of system configurations, asset inventories, and maintenance logs.
Track and analyze system performance data such as availability, downtime, and fault recurrence.
Support documentation to meet cybersecurity and regulatory compliance requirements.
Assist in engineering studies, proof‑of‑concept testing, and system design reviews.
Support project activities including installation, testing, commissioning, and acceptance of new systems or upgrades.
Participate in lifecycle assessments and recommendations for system renewal.
Respond to user requests for installation, relocation, rewiring, or configuration changes of operational systems.
Provide 24/7 standby support (including weekends and public holidays) for emergency activation, ensuring a response time of within two hours.
Assist in recovery and restoration during critical incidents.
Electronics & Electrical Systems: Familiarity with low‑voltage systems, wiring, and fault isolation.
Networking & IT Systems: Basic understanding of LAN/WAN, IP configuration, switches, and system connectivity.
Control & Monitoring Systems: Experience with SCADA, CCTV, access control, or environmental monitoring systems preferred.
Testing & Measurement Tools: Proficient in using multimeters, cable testers, and diagnostic tools.
Documentation & Reporting: Able to maintain accurate maintenance records and generate technical reports.
Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of workplace safety, cybersecurity, and operational standards.
Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
2–4 years of relevant experience in system maintenance, technical operations, or facilities engineering preferred.
Possess a valid Class 3 driving license (advantageous).
Willingness to travel and stay at remote sites when required.
