Job description

The Operations Supervisor is a key change leader in Collins Aerospace’s advanced manufacturing journey. This role is accountable not only for hitting Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP) targets, but also for building the foundation of our next‑generation Factory of the Future site. You will lead and inspire multi-disciplinary teams, coach frontline supervisors, and partner with cross‑functional leaders to deliver operational excellence today while shaping sustainable practices for tomorrow. A critical part of your role will be supporting work transfers into Seletar, testing out new processes and equipment, and ensuring smooth industrialization of new product introductions.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence & Delivery
  • Lead daily operations across assigned manufacturing cell(s), ensuring consistent achievement of SQDCP objectives.
  • Drive takt-time adherence, production leveling, and capacity alignment to meet near- and mid-term demand.
  • Build resilience in operations by anticipating demand fluctuations, material constraints, and equipment downtime risks.
  • Lead Tier accountability meetings, ensuring rapid escalation and closure of issues with structured problem‑solving tools.
New Process & Work Transfer Support
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and project teams to test‑out new machines, processes, and technologies during transition.
  • Lead operator training, OJT validation, and readiness reviews to ensure smooth introduction of new processes into steady‑state production.
  • Coordinate work transfer activities, including part family onboarding, documentation updates, first article inspections, and qualification runs.
  • Ensure robust controls are in place for new process validation, capability studies, and early production stability.
  • Capture lessons learned from work transfers and feed back into future transfer playbooks.
Change Leadership & Continuous Improvement
  • Coordinate with project teams to introduce MES, APS, AMR and connected factory systems to analyze trends, identify bottlenecks, and predict future constraints.
  • Use data modeling and dashboards to track performance metrics and drive systemic improvements rather than short‑term fixes.
  • Champion CORE, embedding structured problem‑solving and continuous improvement into the daily operational cadence.
  • Collaborate with project teams and Manufacturing Engineering to accelerate process validation, qualification, and industrialization of new methods and workflow.
  • Streamline workflows by eliminating non‑value‑added activities, while maintaining strict adherence to quality, compliance, and ethical standards.
People & Capability Development
  • Build and execute operator skill matrices and multiskilling roadmaps to support flexible deployment across machines and shifts.
  • Mentor supervisors in leadership, data‑driven management, and change navigation to prepare the next generation of leaders and professional growth.
Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Lead contributions to Operations expansion in Seletar, ensuring operational scalability and digital transformation readiness.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and HR to align on ramp‑up, workforce strategy, and technology deployment.
  • Support the Manufacturing Manager in achieving departmental objectives.
