The Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the Spanish restaurant, ensuring smooth service, profitability, and an exceptional guest experience. This role bridges the front and back of house, managing staff, optimizing procedures, and maintaining the authenticity and high standards of Spanish hospitality and cuisine.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Supervise daily restaurant operations, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and compliance with all regulations.
- Maintain smooth coordination between kitchen and service teams.
- Monitor dining flow, reservations, and guest feedback to ensure consistent service excellence.
- Oversee inventory management, procurement, and supplier relationships (especially Spanish ingredient sourcing).
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and guest satisfaction.
Financial Performance
- Prepare and monitor budgets, P&L statements, and financial reports.
- Control costs through effective scheduling, waste reduction, and supplier negotiation.
- Identify revenue growth opportunities through promotions, events, and upselling initiatives.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and motivate front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
- Lead daily briefings and performance evaluations to ensure clear communication and accountability.
- Foster a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and Spanish hospitality ("calidez y pasión").
Customer Experience
- Ensure every guest receives a warm, authentic Spanish dining experience.
- Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to align service delivery with menu direction and seasonal offerings.
Brand & Marketing Support
- Assist with marketing campaigns, social media promotions, and themed events (e.g., tapas nights, wine pairings, flamenco evenings).
- Support branding consistency across menus, signage, uniforms, and guest touchpoints.
- Build partnerships with local Spanish food and wine suppliers, media, and tourism entities.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and labor regulations.
- Conduct regular health, safety, and service audits.
- Maintain high standards of facility cleanliness and maintenance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in stall/cafe/restaurant oeration experience ideally in Spanish, Mediterranean, or fine-dining establishments.
- Strong understanding of Spanish cuisine, wine, and culture.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, operations, and large teams.
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills in English, Mandarin or Chinese.
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or equivalent preferred.
