Job description

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee daily container-trucking operations in Singapore. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable execution of port and yard movements while managing people, assets, and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee end-to-end operations for a fleet of 15 prime movers and 150 chassis
  • Lead and manage traffic controllers, drivers, and operations staff
  • Plan and optimize fleet deployment for import, export, empty, transhipment and ITT moves
  • Ensure smooth coordination with PSA, Jurong Port, depots, and customers
  • Monitor operational KPIs such as truck utilization, turnaround time, and service reliability
  • Handle operational escalations, breakdowns, manpower shortages, and last-minute changes
  • Ensure compliance with port rules, LTA regulations, safety standards, and DG requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement in workflows, scheduling, and cost control
Requirements
  • Proven experience in container trucking
  • Experience managing 10 or more trucks and a team of drivers and controllers
  • Strong working knowledge of port and yard systems, including Portnet, CMS, Smart Booking, Matchbox and MDT
  • Hands-on understanding of PSA workflows, yard operations, and container turnaround processes
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced, time-critical environment
