Role Summary
The Operations manager will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the salon business, supporting service delivery, back-office processes, and strategic projects. They will work closely with the salon leadership team, stylists, and support functions to optimise operational efficiency, uphold quality standards, and contribute to business growth.
Key Responsibilities

Salon Operations & Service Quality
- Oversee daily salon operations: scheduling, resource allocation (chairs, stylists, services).
- Liaise with stylists, junior staff and support team to resolve ad-hoc issues (client complaints, walk-ins, staff roster changes).

- Maintain inventory of salon supplies (colouring agents, perm solutions, finishing products, consumables) and coordinate timely stock-replenishment with suppliers.

Process Improvement & Efficiency
- Review and refine operational workflows (appointment system, service time tracking, turnaround for treatments).
- Identify bottlenecks (e.g., high service wait-times, frequent cancellations) and implement corrective actions.
- Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for service readiness, equipment maintenance, hygiene and safety compliance (hair-treatment chemicals, perm solutions, colourants etc).
- Coordinate with finance/accounts on cost-tracking (consumables, vendor serviced equipment, maintenance).

Staff & Resource Management
- Assist with staff scheduling, ensuring adequate coverage for peak hours and weekend shifts.
- Monitor stylist productivity, service booking conversion, and support training or onboarding of new staff.
- Assist in periodic performance reviews, and collaborate on stylist incentives, retention initiatives.

Customer Experience & Marketing Support
- Work with marketing/branding to support customer-feedback mechanisms (surveys, reviews), analyse feedback and recommend improvements.
- Monitor key metrics: client retention, average spend per visit, service mix (cuts, colour, perms, extensions) and support the salon leadership to optimise service offerings.
- Support promotional events or campaigns (e.g., new colour-tech launches, extension promotions) from an operations perspective.

Compliance, Maintenance & Vendor Management
- Ensure salon is compliant with relevant regulations (health & safety, chemical handling, workplace hygiene).
- Liaise with vendors for equipment servicing, salon interior maintenance, waste disposal of chemical solutions.
- Maintain records: service logs, chemical usage, equipment maintenance schedule.

Reporting & Budgeting
- Prepare monthly operational reports for management: salon utilisation, service mix breakdown, cost of goods, staff productivity, customer feedback.
- Assist in budget planning for consumables, maintenance, staffing, and propose cost-saving initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2–4 years of operational or supervisory experience in a salon, spa or service-industry environment; experience in hair-salon operations is a plus.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (to work with stylists, vendors, clients and management).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with appointment/salon-management software is advantageous.
- Analytical mindset: able to track KPIs, interpret data and propose actionable insights.
- Service-oriented, with a passion for delivering excellent customer experience; understanding of hair-salon service standards (colouring, perming, extensions) is helpful.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations in Singapore is beneficial.
