Job description

This is a full-time Operations Executive position within the Ocean Freight team at Geodis Singapore Pte. Ltd., based in the East Region. As the Operations Executive, Ocean Freight, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely ocean freight import and export transportation services, selecting the most suitable carriers for on time services.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will largely depend on the employees capacities but include (or may include) :

  • Handling of shipments & documentation from A to Z
  • Daily Reporting of project shipments as per client requirements
  • Coordinate ocean freight shipments and transport arrangements
  • Build and maintain good rapport with customers to fulfill their requirements
  • Book services with co-loaders & shipping line for export
  • Import and export permit declarations and custom clearance
  • Process customers' orders promptly and prepare billings/invoices
  • Work closely with internal departments to coordinate customers' shipments
What we’re looking for
  • A minimum of 1 years of experience in the freight forwarding or logistics industry, preferably in an operations or customer service role
  • Understanding of the local freight market (carriers and subcontractors) preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills to address issues and ensure timely delivery of shipments
  • Proficiency in using freight forwarding systems and software (Knowledge in CargoWise, EDI & Tradenet Skill preferred)
  • Good organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities
  • A team player with a proactive and customer-oriented mindset
