Description

This leading global commodity trading house, with strong expertise across physical and financial energy and commodity markets, is expanding its business to capture new opportunities in the evolving market landscape. As part of this growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operator specializing in copper and aluminium to join the Singapore team.

Role

Reporting to the Head of Operation for Energy and Metal, the Operations Executive entails developing and executing global transportation flows of metal commodities, ensuring smooth execution of physical trades and timely customer deliveries in line with industry best practices. Manages key accounts by overseeing regional markets, customer requirements, and inventory tracking. Experienced in deal financing, including Letter of Credit review and negotiation, as well as handling supplier payments. Additionally, oversees ocean vessel tracking and laytime review in accordance with charterparty terms, and manages transportation negotiations and quotations to support new business development initiatives.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Maritime Studies or a related discipline, with a minimum of 6 years of experience in copper, aluminium or nickel. A strong understanding of containerized shipment and cargo operations is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders. The candidate must also be able to perform well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating adaptability and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
