Job description

Job Purpose: Responsible for supporting the chartering and commercial operations of the tanker desk, including pre-fixture, fixture, and post-fixture activities. The role involves market analysis, contract management, vessel coordination, and ensuring efficient execution of chartering operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide pre-fixture and fixture support to the tanker chartering team, ensuring smooth coordination and timely documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain up-to-date vessel position lists and monitor fleet availability.
  • Manage vessel nominations and related documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Draft, review, and verify main terms, recaps, and charter party agreements.
  • Perform voyage and Time Charter Equivalent (TCE) calculations to support commercial and operational decisions.
  • Track and analyze market trends, freight rates, and trading patterns to prepare daily market reports for internal use and clients.
  • Maintain and update databases containing market intelligence and commercial information.
  • Liaise closely with shipowners, charterers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth nomination, fixture execution, and communication flow.
  • Oversee post-fixture activities, including voyage monitoring, laytime calculations, performance tracking, and issue resolution.
Job Requirements:
  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in chartering, vessel operations, or post-fixture roles with shipowners, charterers, or shipbrokers.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of commercial and operational aspects of tanker chartering and ship management.
  • Advantage: Prior sailing or maritime background will be beneficial.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant chartering software or databases.
    • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
    • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when required.
