Job description
OVERVIEW:

The role of an Online Store Site Merchandiser is to optimize customer journey on the company’s web store, plan and execute merchandising calendar to support Promotions, Key Beats (Black Friday, Cyber Monday, etc). You will work closely with site operations team (execute changes on the website) to make updates on the pages, Store lead and PMM (product marketing Manager) to define priorities for customer journey optimizations and promotions execution. You will manage product presence on the direct web store and distribution sites and will be in charge of launching new products pages (ensure high quality for content localization, checking page content and structure and making sure pages were launching without critical bugs). The successful Site Merchandiser will combine a detail-oriented approach to tasks with an interest in understanding what drives customers to buy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage category pages & site navigation providing dynamic, engaging customer experience through merchandising choices.
  • Analyze site metrics and related data to identify opportunities to improve conversion rate and drive revenue growth across assigned product categories.
  • Work closely with regional production and user experience teams to implement on-store promotional activity and to manage the site experience and store updates.
  • Use insights and results to develop conversion and optimization strategies to drive product sales, improve customer pathways and improve the on-store customer experience.
  • Develop and implement ‘test and learn’ frameworks to optimize site performance and site experience, based on analysis of site performance, market insights and best practice.
  • Keep up-to-date with online and ecommerce marketing trends in Japan, ASIA region and globally, and develop programs and testing solutions to optimize site performance.
  • Partner with key stockholders to influence and coordinate merchandizing activities required for store and marketplaces category management, demand generation, targeted traffic, EDMs, social.
  • Coordinate A/B testing aligned with sales and business objectives at country and regional level.
  • Responsible for execution and maintenance of product data set-up, including navigation, search, cross sells, copy and image assignment.
  • Coordinates with creative and planning teams to ensure accurate information of all items in assigned categories, including copy, images, attributes, shipping parameters, pricing and any enhanced product content.
  • Conducts daily sites review to ensure products are live and accurately displayed, categorized and priced after launch.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3+ years of ecommerce experience in driving site merchandising, demand generation.
  • Proficiency in Japanese is a must, as this person will be speaking to ecommerce clients such as Amazon / Rakuten who are based in Japan and local Japanese customers.
  • A deep understanding of e-tailers and ecommerce in Japan, both current and emerging, with the ability to translate marketing needs into program execution to drive store performance.
  • Deep familiarity with customer data and consumer insights; high degree of comfort with sales data analysis.
  • Experience working with Adobe Analytics (or analogues) and Content Square (Heatmaps, customer behavior on the page).
  • Experience managing Amazon.co.jp stores is a plus.
