Job summary

A leading occupational therapy service provider in Singapore is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide school-based therapy for children with autism and intellectual disabilities. The role involves conducting assessments, collaborating with teachers and parents, and training staff on therapeutic strategies. Ideal candidates have a degree in Occupational Therapy and experience with special needs children. A flexible work schedule is offered, with 4 working days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized occupational therapy services within a school environment.
  • Conduct pull-out sessions and/or provide in-class support for students.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and AHPs.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive progress reports.
  • Participate in student assessments with other professionals.
  • Conduct training sessions for teachers and parents.

Education

Recognized Degree in Occupational Therapy

Job Description

Provide school-based occupational therapy services for children with autism and intellectual disabilities. Conduct pull-out and in-class support, assessments, and progress reporting. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and Allied Health Professionals, and provide training to support students’ functional and daily living skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized occupational therapy services within a school environment.
  • Conduct pull-out sessions and/or provide in-class support for students.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and AHPs to ensure holistic student support.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive progress reports for students receiving therapy.
  • Participate in student assessments with other professionals.
  • Conduct training and coaching sessions for teachers and parents to enhance occupational therapy strategies.
  • Utilize and demonstrate proficiency in adaptive equipment and sensory integration tools.
Working Schedule
  • Work Days: 4 days per week (preferred days negotiable)
  • Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Excluded Days: Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and school holidays
Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Recognized Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Full registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC)

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with children with autism and intellectual disabilities
  • Proficiency with adaptive equipment and sensory integration tools
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to conduct training and coaching sessions for teachers and parents.
