Job summary

The Winstedt School seeks a qualified Occupational Therapist to lead and develop its OT programmes, aligning with evidence-based practice and regulatory guidelines. You will plan, implement and administer OT services and provide peer consultation while ensuring high-quality documentation and compliance with safeguarding policies.

You will collaborate with teachers and other professionals to support student participation, fine and gross motor development, self-regulation, and educational goals

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy and AHPC registration required.
• 3–5 years of relevant paediatric experience preferred.
• Clinical assessment and treatment skills for paediatric OT.
• Proficient with educational technology and digital resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based OT interventions to support student participation.
• Deliver integrated push-in and pull-out OT services weekly.
• Carry out group therapy sessions (~5 weekly).
• Observe and document student progress and provide feedback.
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary meetings to support IEPs.
• Supervise OT Interns per AHPC framework.
• Maintain up-to-date student therapy documentation.
• Ensure safety standards in gym environments and report issues promptly.

About the role

This role holds responsibility for Occupational Therapy programmes as part of the Department's Occupational Therapy service delivery, including programme planning timelines and administration. The position supports the Director of Therapy & Pastoral Care to develop, implement and maintain Occupational Therapy services including peer consultation, referral delegation of clients, clinical policies and guidelines reflecting evidence-based practice and within regulatory guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Provide targeted, evidence-based therapeutic intervention to facilitate student participation and occupational performance within diverse school environments, including the classroom, playground, fieldtrips, camps and special activities
• Provide Integrated support including push-in classroom support and pull out groups to students in every designated classroom on a weekly basis in collaboration with teachers
• Carry out an average of five Group Therapy sessions per week
• Conduct observations and provide written feedback during screening for students on trial for an average of 2 students per week
• Promote development of fine and gross motor skills, Executive Functioning skills, penmanship, visual perceptual skills, sensory processing skills, self-regulation and a sense of accomplishment in children
• Attend monthly Occupational Therapy meetings to provide peer supervision, case discussion, discuss student goals and plans, and organise/provide internal CPD
• Participate in regular multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrate findings with other disciplines, offer recommendations, and develop individualized education plans and intervention plans
• Provide and document general supervision to OT Interns and implement supervision in line with the AHPC Singapore Supervisory framework
• Ensure all therapy sessions are documented and maintain up-to-date documentation in each student profile corresponding to therapy services received
• Ensure the safety standards of the gyms are of a high standard through continual observation of possible health and safety hazards and report any issues, defects, repairs or maintenance needed immediately

About you

• Tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Occupational Therapy
• Registration with the Allied Health Professions Council, Singapore
• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Clinical skills in assessment and treatment of Occupational conditions in paediatric population
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Teams, Outlook, Google Classroom and ability to use digital resources and educational technology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to engage effectively with staff members, children, parents and other associated professionals
• Good time management skills
• Problem solver with a positive and growth mindset
• Resilient and flexible
