Job summary

A healthcare institution in Singapore is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide quality treatment and care for elderly patients. Responsibilities include developing care plans, implementing therapy programs, and participating in multidisciplinary team meetings. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Allied Health Professional Council, with at least 1 year of experience. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must have full registration with the Allied Health Professional Council.
  • Preferably at least 1 year’s experience.
  • Enjoy working with elderly patients, especially those with neurological or musculoskeletal problems or mental health conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality occupational therapy treatment as an effective member of the rehabilitation team.

  • Supervise Therapy Assistants and volunteers in relevant areas.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for providing quality occupational therapy treatment as an effective member of the rehabilitation team.
  • Work out individual care plan and treatment goals for each client.
  • Provide occupational therapy treatment for Inpatient Wards.
  • Plan and implement OT program for clients with Dementia, Psychiatric illness, Musculoskeletal and Neurological conditions.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to review clients’ progress with other team members.
  • Supervise Therapy Assistants (TAs) and volunteers helping in relevant areas.
  • Supervise Occupational Therapist who are under conditional registration.
  • Be involved in training of the TAs and caregivers.
  • Be involved in training and education of the team in aspects related to occupational therapy.
  • Participate in quality improvement or research projects.
Requirements
  • Recognized degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • Must have full registration with the Allied Health Professional Council.
  • Experience Preferably at least 1 year’s experience.
  • Must enjoy working with elderly patients, especially for patients with neurological or musculoskeletal problems or mental health conditions.
