A leading catering company in Singapore is seeking a detail-oriented Nutrition Consultant to collaborate with culinary teams in developing and analyzing menus. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Nutrition, at least 3 years of experience, and proficiency in nutritional software. Responsibilities include menu analysis for nutrient density, dietary accommodations, and creating engaging wellness content for various platforms.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Nutrition Consultant to collaborate with our culinary team. Your expertise will be integral in developing, analyzing, and refining our menus, ensuring they are as nutritious as they are delicious. You will help us communicate the healthful benefits of our dishes to clients, supporting our brand as a leader in wellness-focused gourmet catering.
Menu Analysis & Development: Work alongside our Head Chef to provide nutritional feedback on new and existing dishes. Assess recipes for balance, nutrient density, and alignment with modern dietary preferences.
Macronutrient & Micronutrient Profiling: Create clear, professional, and accurate nutritional estimates (macronutrients and key micronutrients) for our menu items, individual dishes, and full catering packages. Present data in a clean, client-friendly format.
Dietary Accommodation Strategy: Advise on modifications and alternatives to accommodate common dietary needs and restrictions (e.g., gluten‑free, dairy‑free, vegetarian/vegan, low‑sodium, keto‑friendly, diabetic‑friendly).
Client‑Facing Nutritional Advice: Develop concise, persuasive nutritional summaries and talking points for our sales team to use with clients. Be available for occasional consultations for high‑profile or specialized events to address specific client health goals.
Wellness Content Contribution: Collaborate with our marketing team to create scientifically sound, engaging content about the nutritional philosophy behind our menus for our website, blog, and social media channels.
Empress Porridge Catering is proud to cater a growing number of family‑friendly events, from birthdays to school functions. We believe in setting a foundation of healthy eating habits from a young age through food that is both appealing and nourishing.
You will also play a key role in this mission by:
Developing & Analyzing Kid‑Friendly Menus: Create and evaluate nutritious, balanced, and fun menu options specifically designed for children's palates and nutritional needs. This includes advising on appropriate portion sizes, "kid‑approved" presentation, and hidden‑veggie strategies.
Allergen & Safety Focus: Provide expert guidance on managing common childhood allergens (e.g., peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs) in a catering environment, ensuring clear protocols and safe alternatives.
Parent & Guardian Communication: Help us craft clear, reassuring messaging for parents about the nutritional value, ingredient quality, and safety of our children's menu offerings.
Educational Touchpoints: Suggest simple, engaging ways to incorporate basic nutrition education into our kids' menu presentations or event materials (e.g., "Rainbow Power Plate" themes, "Protein Builder" stations).
A credentialed professional with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, or a related field. Current RD/RDN credential is strongly preferred.
Possess 3+ years of professional experience in clinical nutrition, culinary nutrition, food product development, or a related consulting role.
Have a passion for food and a deep understanding of how ingredients, cooking methods, and portion sizes impact nutritional outcomes.
Are proficient in using nutritional analysis software (e.g., ESHA Food Processor, Nutritics) and the MS Office/Google Workspace suites.
Are an excellent communicator who can translate complex nutritional information into clear, actionable insights for both a culinary team and non‑expert clients.
Are self‑motivated, responsive, and able to manage project timelines effectively in a remote freelance capacity.
Experience specifically within the catering, hospitality, or restaurant industry.
A background or strong interest in Asian or fusion cuisines.
A portfolio showcasing previous menu analyses or similar project work.
