Job Description

Nurse Educator

• Assess, identify, implement, coordinate and evaluate departmental nursing staffs’ continuing education, training and development plans to ensure provision of competent and quality patient care.
• Responsible for nursing staff induction, clinical education / training, in-service education, personal and professional growth.
• Collaborate with the nurse Managers/Clinicians and other health professionals on relevant staff development and in-service education.
• Assist in the preparation, review and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs) and clinical competency checklists for the department.
• Provides career counselling/coaching for all levels of nursing staffs’ professional development.

Nurse Manager

• Oversee the efficient and cost-effective operation of the department, including forecasting equipment needs, managing staffing levels and staff-patient ratios, ensuring a clean and safe environment, and preparing staff duty rosters.
• Perform administrative functions such as managing internal documentation, providing supervisory support, maintaining confidentiality, organizing departmental meetings, and representing the department in assigned committees and meetings.
• Plan and supervise orientation programs for new staff members, ensure the delivery of high-quality nursing care, and uphold patient safety and well-being.
• Ensure compliance with operating theatre (OT) standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs), provide reassurance to patients and families, address and resolve complaints, and enforce infection prevention and control policies.

Requirement

• Diploma of Nursing or Degree in Nursing
• Post-basic Specialty Certificate in Nursing Education or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience as a Senior Staff Nurse or Clinical Instructor
• Registered Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board
