Job summary

A healthcare service provider in Singapore is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide independent clinical assessments and formulate patient care plans. You will mentor junior nurses, develop training programs, and ensure quality improvement in nursing standards. Ideal candidates must be registered with the Singapore Nursing Board and hold a degree in Nursing or related qualification.

Qualifications

  • Registered with Singapore Nursing Board.
  • Degree in Nursing and/or Specialist/Adv Dip in Palliative Care, Gerontology or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical assessment and individualized care plans for patients.
  • Guide junior nurses on complex patient management.
  • Supervise nursing staff and ensure operational adequacy.
  • Develop and lead training programs for nurses.

Job description
Duties and responsibilities
Direct patient care
  1. Provide independent clinical assessment of patients and formulate individualized care plans within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse and in consultation with the multi-disciplinary team, referring appropriately for internal or external services as necessary

  2. Provide guidance to junior nurses on management of patients with complex care needs

  3. Provide after-hours phone call advice to patients and their caregivers on a scheduled shift-work basis

Competency Development and training
  1. Act as an expert resource for nurses and mentor colleagues to aid them in the advancement of nursing practice in providing home-based health care and palliative care in MWS services.

  2. Develop and provide orientation / induction programmes and preceptorship for new staff

  3. Develop and coordinate regular training for nurses and ensuring regular competency measurement for nurses

Supervision / Manpower Resourcing
  1. Supervise assistant nurse clinicians/managers and junior nurses in carrying out their responsibilities

  2. Ensuring adequate coverage for daily operational needs

  3. Lead and implement strategies and initiatives to promote well-being of nurses

Quality Improvement
  1. Develop internal clinical audit frameworks and conduct audits to ensure compliance with nursing standards

  2. Lead quality improvement initiatives

  3. Assist HOC/Senior Nurse Manager in reviewing and implementing relevant nursing policies and procedures

Qualifications
  1. Registered with Singapore Nursing Board

  2. Degree in Nursing and/or Specialist/Adv Dip in Palliative Care, Gerontology or equivalent
