Job description
Responsibilities
  • Is responsible for compliance of all nursing standards as stipulated by the Ministry of Health and Singapore Nursing Board.
  • Promote evidence-based practices on nursing care delivery.
  • Ensure written policies, procedures and work process are up to date to guide the nursing care delivery.
  • Monitor Eccare updates on clinical matters by staff and render support when needed. Eg. Wound management.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide coordinated, holistic care, respecting each member’s expertise, ensuring improved resident satisfaction and outcomes.
Quality
  • Develop/Review and update relevant nursing policies and procedures.
  • Work with Nurse Manager, Allied Health Professionals and support care team to coordinate, conduct and facilitate quality improvement initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Plan, execute and maintain record of quality improvement initiatives [InterRAI monitoring, Infection Control Programme] and the Internal Quality Audits, evaluate outcome and develop action plan for further improvement.
Training and Development
  • Teach, mentor and supervise nursing staff in their clinical practice.
  • Nurture nursing staff clinical competencies progression through mentoring and role modelling.
  • Conduct regular and on-going assessment of nursing staff competencies to ensure achievement of targets set and/or expected competency levels.
  • Identify courses for CPE points, training needs, and develop training programs tailored to support the long term and short term goals of the organisation. E.g. QA training, Infection control training, in-services.
  • Conduct Orientation and oversee On-the-job Training (OJT) Programme of new staff.
Administration
  • Maintain and ensure the safe storage of all confidential files / records / documents.
  • Ensure that effective and cooperative working relationships are maintained within the Nursing Department and between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the Director of Nursing in staff development activities and quality improvement projects.
  • In Charge of admin work dedicated by DON – eg. tracking of CPE points, BCLS of all staff and submission of training forms for signature.
Job Specification
