Since 1958, St John's Home for Elderly Persons has been a trusted Sheltered Home for seniors under the Ministry of Social and Family Affairs (MSF). As we transition into a Nursing Home under the Ministry of Health (MOH) by 2026, we are seeking a highly driven Nurse Clinician to co-create the future of our Nursing Home to be aModel of Care and aLiving Sanctuary to be a Safe and Secured Haven for all who enters.

Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations
  • Manage nursing care and daily functions, escalating matters as necessary under the Director of Nursing (DON)'s guidance.
  • Oversee ward operations, including resident care and nursing team management, providing cross-coverage as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to professional standards, code of ethics, and evidence-based practices in nursing services.
  • Develop and update clinical protocols to maintain regulatory compliance and standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify training needs, develop staff knowledge and skills, and support other departments during activities or crises.
  • Conduct training programs, continuous learning courses, and yearly clinical competency assessments.
  • Monitor infection prevention practices and clinical emergencies.
  • Stay current with advancements in nursing and clinical practices through evidence-based literature and research.
Nursing Home Transition
  • Assist in strategic planning and process development for the new nursing home.
  • Develop Clinical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with the Healthcare Services Act (HCSA).
  • Create training schedules for mass nursing hires.
  • Contribute to shaping Nursing's identity (uniform design, specializations, etc.).
  • Evaluate and select vendors for equipment, consumables, and clinical products.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board.
  • Advanced/Specialist Diploma or Bachelor's Degree.
  • Valid BCLS Certification.
  • Prior experience as a Clinical Instructor, Infection Control Lead and/or previous similar appointments (Nurse Clinician/Educator/Manager in the ILTC sector will be highly advantageous.
