Job summary

STEP UP GLOBAL CONSULTANCY PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking an Assistant Cook to help keep the kitchen orderly and support Cooks in food preparation. You will assist with cleaning, washing dishes and ensuring the Cook has everything needed to run the kitchen efficiently.

You will handle food preparation tasks, sanitise preparation areas, store utensils, manage supplies, and participate in inventory control. The role requires willingness to work shifts and experience in North Indian cuisine.

Qualifications

• Experience with kitchen hygiene and health & safety standards.
• Able to cook North Indian dishes.
• Willingness to work in shifts.
• Assist Cook in food preparation and kitchen setup.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Cook in food preparation activities, such as cleaning, cutting, chopping and peeling ingredients.
• Cleaning and sanitising the food preparation areas according to hygiene codes and health and safety standards.
• Washing, disinfecting and storing cooking utensils and equipment.
• Buying, weighing and storing ingredients and food supplies.
• Operating kitchen appliances including cutters, knives, mixers and ovens.
• Managing inventory, unloading supplies and organising the storeroom.
• Participating in programs or projects to improve service quality and productivity.
• Maintaining clean work areas, utensils, and equipment.
• Developing new menu items while improvising existing ones.
• Maintaining kitchen expenses, food costs, inventory, and staffing within budget.
