Overview

NOC Service Engineer – Managed Services

Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and manage incidents, including diagnosis and resolution, within defined SLAs, OLAs, and KPIs, ensuring timely investigation of all issues.
• Update ticketing systems regularly while progressing incidents through to resolution.
• Liaise and escalate with external vendors and internal teams to minimize network disruption and downtime.

Work Shift - Schedule

• 5-day work week, including weekends and public holidays.
• Two consecutive days off provided in a week.

Required work experience/skills

• A degree in Telecommunications or equivalent relevant industry experience.
• Professional certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, or Optical Associate Foundation are advantageous.
• Proven experience in a Network Management or Operations Center environment within Managed Services (Data or Voice), Telecoms, ISP, or Cloud Service Provider sectors.
• Experience in a Data Center (co-location) environment is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools and trouble-ticketing systems.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
• Proficiency in LAN and WAN troubleshooting, including physical cabling issues in co-location environments.
• Working knowledge of IP/MPLS networks (experience with Juniper MX Series desirable).
• Experience with Optical Ethernet and Transport Networks (Ciena 6500 and Waveserver AI desirable).
• Familiarity with VMware and Linux-based systems.
• Knowledge of cloud connectivity services such as Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute, AWS Direct Connect, or Google Cloud Interconnect is an advantage.
