Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of the facility, including building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. This role ensures a safe, efficient, and operational environment for employees and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of facility systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural components.
- Repair or replace faulty wiring, plumbing fixtures, and other building systems.
- Ensure that all facility systems are functioning optimally and safely.
Preventive Maintenance
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for building systems and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and facility issues.
Troubleshooting and Repairs
- Diagnose and resolve issues with machinery, equipment, and building systems.
- Perform hands-on repairs or coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs.
- Welding and Fabrication: Perform welding operations using MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding techniques to assemble and repair metal components according to specifications and blueprints
- Inspect welds for defects, measure and align materials, and ensure welds meet quality standards and project specifications.
- Maintain and clean welding equipment and tools, and ensure they are in good working condition. Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the supervisor.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to building safety, maintenance, and environmental standards.
- Implement and follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of materials.
Equipment and Systems Management
- Demonstrated knowledge of various types of equipment, including their functions and applications.
- Expertise in the installation and setup of new equipment and systems, ensuring that operational manuals are updated accordingly.
- Effective monitoring and maintenance of equipment inventory, encompassing tools, supplies, and spare parts, to ensure availability and operational efficiency.
Emergency Response
- Respond to facility emergencies, such as power outages, water leaks, or HVAC failures, and take appropriate action to resolve issues promptly.
- Be available for on-call or after-hours emergency maintenance as needed.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Prepare and submit reports on facility conditions, maintenance needs, and other relevant issues.
Working hours
- Fixed night shift from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM
Qualifications
- Education: Diploma in mechanical engineering; with specialised qualification in welding
- Experience: Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician
- Skills:Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) and safety procedures.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., MEWP, BLOC) may be required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- Capability to work in various environmental conditions (e.g., hot, cold, wet).
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform maintenance tasks.

- Typically works in commercial, industrial, or institutional settings.
- May require working at heights, in confined spaces, or around hazardous materials.
- Regularly interacts with machinery, tools, and building systems.
