Job summary

Ambition Group Singapore Pte. Ltd. seeks a Linux Validation Engineer to design and execute automated validation processes for enterprise Linux platforms.

You will develop test frameworks, run end-to-end validation, and ensure patching, hardening, clustering, and core services meet quality and compliance standards. Responsibilities include integrating with Platform Engineering, DevOps, and Security teams, maintaining testing artifacts, and supporting on-prem and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• Strong hands-on experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9/10).
• Experience with Linux clustering technologies (Pacemaker or equivalent).
• Proficiency in Python, Ansible, Bash, JSON, and YAML scripting and automation.
• Experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and validation solutions.
• Strong understanding of patching, hardening, and validation processes.
• Knowledge of cloud and virtualization technologies, orchestration & workflow automation.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA.
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools.
• Strong documentation, analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing automated validation processes, developing test frameworks, and ensuring Linux-based platforms meet enterprise standards for quality, performance, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end validation of Linux operating system builds, including patching, hardening, clustering, and core infrastructure services.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and system testing activities to verify platform stability and performance.
• Validate scheduled and ad-hoc operating system patch releases to ensure production readiness.
• Investigate test failures, analyze defects, identify root causes, and work closely with Platform Engineering teams to implement resolutions.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain automated test frameworks, validation scripts, and Ansible playbooks to improve testing efficiency and repeatability.
• Ensure systems meet defined quality, security, compliance, and operational standards before deployment.
• Capture and maintain test evidence, execution logs, validation reports, and traceability records.
• Support validation activities across on-premises and cloud-based enterprise environments.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering, DevOps, Security, and Operations teams to establish and maintain testing standards and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise governance, risk management, change management, and regulatory requirements.
• Utilize defect tracking and test management tools to manage end-to-end testing lifecycle activities.

Requirements

Technical Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong hands-on experience administering and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9/10) environments.
• Experience with Linux clustering technologies such as Pacemaker or equivalent solutions.
• Proficiency in Python, Ansible, Bash, JSON, and YAML scripting and automation.
• Experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and validation solutions.
• Strong understanding of operating system patching, hardening, and infrastructure validation processes.
• Knowledge of cloud and virtualization technologies, including orchestration and workflow automation platforms.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA .
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools.
• Strong documentation, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within regulated industries such as banking, financial services, or critical infrastructure environments.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and software delivery methodologies.
• Experience with enterprise testing solutions and automation platforms such as OpenText ALM/Octane .
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
