We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Marine Broker to spearhead the launch and growth of our marine business in Hong Kong. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive business plan, establishing key partnerships, building a strong team, and driving sales and market share. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the Hong Kong marine market, a proven track record of success in business development, and a passion for the marine industry.
Responsibilities
- Market Analysis & Strategy:
- Conduct thorough market research to identify opportunities and trends in the Hong Kong & North Asia marine market (e.g., shipowners, charter services, marine equipment, maintenance, etc.).
- Develop a comprehensive business plan, including market entry strategy, sales projections, and financial forecasts.
- Identify and assess potential target customer segments.
- Business Development & Partnerships:
- Establish and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders in the Hong Kong marine industry, including marinas, yacht clubs, dealers, service providers, and government agencies.
- Negotiate and secure strategic partnerships to support business growth.
- Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets.
- Team Building & Management:
- Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team of sales and service professionals.
- Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and customer focus.
- Sales & Marketing:
- Develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies to generate leads and drive sales.
- Oversee the development of marketing materials, including website, brochures, and social media content.
- Represent the company at industry events and trade shows.
- Operations & Compliance:
- Establish and manage operational processes to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and industry standards in Hong Kong.
- Financial Management:
- Manage the budget and P&L for the marine business unit.
- Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales management within the marine industry in Hong Kong.
- Deep understanding of the Hong Kong marine market, including key players, trends, and regulations.
- Proven track record of success in launching and growing new businesses.
- Strong network of contacts within the Hong Kong marine industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and Cantonese is essential; Mandarin is a plus.
