Job summary

A technology solutions provider in Singapore is seeking a Network Engineer with over 7 years of experience. The successful candidate will develop strategies for internet peering and provide 24/7 support, addressing network issues across different layers. Strong communication skills and a Bachelor's degree are required. Candidates with CCNP or JNCIP certification will be preferred.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Take part in production network and internet peering strategies
• Verse with networking technologies relative to content delivery network, monitoring capacity and peering traffic.
• Perform Day-to-day activities involve working on multiple vendor servers and various software and hardware issues
• Work with multiple TAC vendors to fix the hardware issues
• Handle traffic and any other queries raised by ISP/partners
• Capable of driving the first level of Escalations reported by the team.
• Capability to prepare both Technical and Process MOP and circulating with other Team Leads.
• Support team in handling network and traffic peering for any Layer 1 to Layer 3 issues.
• Capability to drive data insights and report them on and as required.
• Participating in multiple meetings and providing weekly presentations related to Network Performance and Escalations.
• Work with ISP/vendors on fixing any issues related to network
• Jointly working with the Regional and Other region Team Leads.
• Provide 24/7 support with other teams across the globe. Some weekend work may be required with weekdays off.
• Other ad-hoc duties.

Qualifications

• Possesses Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) and 7+ years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Able to builds relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
• Knowledge in network and traffic peering
• Knowledge in fiber-optic technology including cable types, connector types, optic types, patch panels, and optical transport technologies will be advantages.
• Able to prepare root cause analysis for any network and server outages.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to work with service providers, colocation facilities, and ISPs around the world
• Knowledgeable about the different Network Protocols like OSPF/ISIS and BGP
• Deep knowledge in DWDMs involving multiple vendors like Cienna, Infinera and Cisco NCS.
• Knowledgeable on Layer 1-3 troubleshooting.
• Possesses CCNP/JNCIP certification
• Any expertise in the field of Optical is a plus.
