About The Job

The successful candidate will work closely with the school's lab support team to ensure the smooth operation of our laboratories. You will take an active role in setting up and maintaining network devices, managing desktop systems, installing software, and supporting specialized lab equipment. You will also provide technical assistance to various stakeholders across the university. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in maintaining a reliable and efficient lab environment that supports the school's teaching, learning, and research activities.

What You Will Be Doing
Key Responsibilities
  • Configure and install network hardware (routers, switches and firewall).
  • Provide prompt and effective technical support to resolve network connectivity challenges, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Analyze technical and business requirements to implement optimal network configurations.
  • Maintain documentation of network configurations, changes and troubleshooting procedures.
Lab & IT Support
  • Provide technical support for ICT courses and capstone projects.
  • Maintain, configure, and support lab, project hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot issues in both physical and virtual lab environments for faculty and students.
  • Assist faculty and capstone projects supervisors in sourcing and evaluating new equipment and software.
  • Liaising with third-party vendors.
  • Assist with other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements
  • University Degree in Networking, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or related fields.
  • Minimum with 3 or more years of relevant experience, ideally in IT or higher education environment, with at least 2 years of hands‑on experience managing physical/virtual lab environments.
  • Proficient with Cisco, Linux and Open‑Source Environment.
  • Hands‑on experience using Cisco CLI to configure and troubleshoot network devices.
  • CCNA certification is preferred.
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure and Google Cloud) will be advantageous.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and educational technology tools are a plus.
  • Self‑motivated team player with a positive attitude.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
