Job summary

GOOGLE ASIA PACIFIC PTE. LTD. is seeking a Network Implementation Engineer to drive deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide.

You will collaborate with PMs, engineers, and vendors to position the team for success and deliver a scalable, reliable network for global customers. The role emphasizes architectural and design work for colocation spaces, CAD drawings, and cross-disciplinary coordination across data center operations, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience with networking protocols and troubleshooting.
• Experience with two or more of the following: server hardware and software, network hardware and software, data center infrastructure and operations, or mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD.

• Draft Statement Of Work (SOW) design/engineering drawing sets.
• Design spaces that meet needs along with maintaining flexibility for the future.
• Create LISP routines to automate and improve drafting efficiencies.

As a Network Implementation Engineer, you will be the initial point of our efforts to execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide. You will work with Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Design and Infrastructure Engineers, Field Engineers within Google, as well as construction and telecommunications vendors and contractors, all to position your team and organization for success.

You will facilitate faster, better, and more efficient, positive outcomes for the business and our customers. Your objective will be to build the world’s most reliable, cost-effective and scalable network to support all of our current and future customers and users globally.

Additional job description

As a Network Implementation Engineering, you will be responsible for the evaluation, design, and construction of Google's space in colocation facilities across the globe. You will plan, design, and generate construction level Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings for the spaces we utilize across the globe. You will have a wide scope of background across the data center industry, including operations, engineering (network, electrical, or mechanical), making the time more effective at the work we perform.

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience with AutoCAD, managing projects in data center construction or commercial construction.
• Experience in the following: construction project management, electrical engineering, fiber OSP/ISP engineering and large-scale project management.
• Experience with LISP and scripting.
