You’ll be the go-to person for network-related issues, responsible for maintaining Cisco switches, managing firewalls (Sophos XG210 and Fortigate 200D), and ensuring smooth connectivity between our on‑prem systems and cloud services. This role also requires standby support after hours and the flexibility to come back to the office during weekends for urgent issues or planned maintenance.
Responsibilities
Network Operations & Maintenance

- Manage VLAN setup, trunking, port security, and perform switch firmware upgrades
- Monitor LAN/WAN performance to ensure reliable and stable connectivity across offices and data centers
- Maintain IP address management, DNS/DHCP configurations, and routing setups (BGP/OSPF where applicable)
- Administer Ruckus WiFi controllers and access points, and resolve WiFi instability issues as needed
Firewall & Security
- Administer and maintain Sophos XG210 and Fortigate 200D firewalls
- Configure, manage, and maintain VPN tunnels for both site-to-site and remote access connections
- Regularly review and update firewall rules, perform firmware upgrades, and monitor security alerts
- Troubleshoot and respond promptly to network and security incidents to ensure system integrity and uptime
Cloud & Systems Support
- Manage Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune), including user setup and connectivity
- Oversee integration and synchronization between on-premises Active Directory and Azure AD
- Support network configurations within Azure and AWS environments, including virtual networks, subnets, and routing
- Implement and maintain hybrid connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and cloud environments using VPN, ExpressRoute, or Direct Connect
- Hands‑on experience with AWS services such as EC2, CloudWatch, Route 53, RDS, Lightsail, and Lambda
Monitoring & Troubleshooting
- Proactively monitor network performance to identify and address bottlenecks or failures
- Utilise tools such as PRTG, Wireshark, and SolarWinds for diagnostics and performance analysis
- Collaborate with vendors and ISPs to troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues
Support & Maintenance Windows
- Provide Level 2/3 technical support for escalated network and system issues
- Participate in the on-call rotation to support after-hours incidents
Documentation & Improvements
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of network topology, configurations, and system changes
- Propose and implement enhancements to improve network efficiency, stability, and security
Technical Skills
- Strong hands‑on experience with Cisco Catalyst 2960 switches, including configuration, VLANs, trunking, and spanning tree setup
- Good knowledge and experience with Sophos XG210 and Fortigate 200D firewalls
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, Azure, and AWS network and identity management
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), and VPN technologies.
- Experienced in using network monitoring tools such as PRTG, SolarWinds, Wireshark, and Graylog
- Familiar with backup procedures and configuration management for network devices
- Holding Linux+ or an equivalent Linux certification is an advantage
- Preferred certifications include Cisco CCNA or CCNP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, and ideally, a Sophos or Fortigate Network Security certification
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3‑5 years of relevant experience in network administration and support
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with the capacity to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
