Job Description
The NEDR Engineer is responsible for proactive network fault detection, anomaly analysis, and early response across Nokia RAN and Core (4G/5G) domains. The role focuses on identifying degradations before they impact services and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure network reliability, performance, and preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Nokia network elements (RAN, Transport, Core) using Early Detection and Assurance platforms.
- Detect and analyze anomalies, trends, and KPI degradations to prevent service impact.
- Conduct correlation and root cause analysis using logs, KPIs, and trace data.
- Trigger corrective actions or escalation according to SOPs and impact severity.
- Develop and refine Early Detection Rules, thresholds, and automation scripts.
- Support post-incident reviews and generate Early Warning reports.
- Work closely with Performance, Incident Management, and Engineering teams to enhance observability and readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in Network Operations, Performance Management, or Fault Management.
- Strong understanding of 4G/5G RAN architecture (gNB, DU, CU, O-RAN) and Core Network functions (AMF, SMF, UPF).
- Experience with Nokia OSS platforms such as NetAct, EdenNet, CBIS/CBAM, CloudBand, and NCM.
- Proficiency in alarm correlation, KPI analytics, and fault management systems.
- Analytical mindset with ability to correlate cross-domain symptoms and determine root causes.
- Good communication, reporting, and collaboration skills.
- Familiar with SLA/SLO management and incident escalation workflows.
- Experience in Telecom Cloud, DevOps, or Automation frameworks is an advantage.
