Job summary

Talent Titans Pte Ltd is seeking a skilled marine electronics technician based in Singapore to install, troubleshoot, and service a wide range of navigation and communication systems. The role requires hands-on experience and willingness to travel, including sea assignments.

You will work on MARINE RADAR, chartplotters, ECDIS, AIS, VDR, VHF, MF/HF SSB, autopilots, and VSAT systems, with emphasis on system reliability and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
• Minimum of 4 years hands-on experience in installation, troubleshooting, and servicing marine navigation and communication systems
• Proficiency in installation, configuration, and maintenance of MARINE RADAR systems, chartplotters, ECDIS, AIS, VDR, VHF radios, MF/HF SSB, autopilots, maritime IT equipment, and VSAT systems
• Strong knowledge of IT/networking principles and protocols
• General Operator's Certificate (GOC) is recommended
• Familiarity with marine electrical and electronics systems is desirable
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, plus willingness to travel frequently (including sea assignments)

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and service marine navigation and communication systems including MARINE RADAR, chartplotters, ECDIS, AIS, VDR, VHF radios, MF/HF SSB, autopilots, maritime IT equipment, and VSAT systems
• Conduct regular maintenance checks and inspections on installed systems for optimal performance and safety
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous onboard operation
• Provide technical support and guidance to onboard crew for operation and maintenance
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate installations, upgrades, and repairs
• Keep abreast of industry developments, regulations, and advancements
• Document all service activities comprehensively

At least 4 years of hands-on experience in the installation, troubleshooting, and servicing of a wide range of marine navigation and communication systems, including but not limited to MARINE RADAR systems, chartplotters, ECDIS, AIS, VDR, VHF radios, MF/HF SSB, autopilots, and maritime IT equipment. Additionally, knowledge in IT/networking and VSAT systems is essential for this role. A General Operator's Certificate (GOC) is recommended. The candidate should also possess a general understanding of marine electrical and electronics systems. Flexibility and a willingness to travel are required for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, troubleshoot, and service various marine navigation and communication systems including MARINE RADAR systems, chartplotters, ECDIS, AIS, VDR, VHF radios, MF/HF SSB, autopilots, maritime IT equipment, and VSAT systems.
• Conduct regular maintenance checks and inspections on installed systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure the continuous operation of onboard systems.
• Provide technical support and guidance to onboard crew members regarding the operation and maintenance of navigation and communication systems.
